The idea to produce a Swedish whisky was conceived by eight friends in a mountain cabin back in 1998. During dinner, one of them wondered why there was no Swedish malt whisky, and, if it was possible, why hadn’t anyone already done it? One year later, Mackmyra Svensk Whisky was established, the first single malt distillery in Sweden.
Mackmyra has become a leader of the New World Whisky movement, regularly awarded for the quality of their whisky. They’ve come a long way since their first 30-litre pot still that they welded themselves.
At this session Alex Johnson from Mackmyra will guide you through a a tasting of four single malts in their permanent range, as well as two of their recent limited editions:
